We Want Answers: The Charlatans

Release Date: 12-06-2008

Lead singer Tim Burgess on downloading music, being in a band for 20 years and why he sat in a room for a whole week

What's the general reaction so far to the new album, You Cross My Path?
Pretty good, I'm happy with it so far. I've been doing a lot of interviews recently and it seems as though people genuinely like it.

The album is available for download for free.. Did you make this unusual step in order to move with the times, so to speak?
I don't know whether we felt like we had to go with the times: We led the times, really, because no one had done it before. There may be consequences but there's been none yet.

Have you ever downloaded music from the internet?
yes, both legally and illegally. [laughs]
