If it looks like a digital SLR, functions like a DSLR, and shoots like a DSLR, it’s got to be a DSLR. But wait, it costs a lot less than a DSLR and is priced more like a point-and-shoot. So is it a DSLR? With 10.1 megapixels, large APC-size CMOS image sensor, DIGIC III image processor, Live View, and Image Stabiliser-equipped lens, you can bet your money it’s a DSLR! And it’s not even going to be a sizeable bet, since the 1000D should cost less than $1,000 when it becomes available this month.
